“We can all agree a smooth car ride is more enjoyable than a bumpy inconsistent trip to your favorite destination. Foam rolling should be an extremely enjoyable experience, that is why smooth instead of textured rollers are still #1.” Mark Harman
Throughout my journey to find the best foam rolling & back pain therapy equipment I now understand that textured foam rollers are not as effective as advertised. Textured foam rollers such as the “Rumble Roller” or the “Trigger Point Foam Roller & even the “ Morph collapsing foam roller ” do not meet the therapeutic grade claims they advertise to meet. Instead it is unfortunately a marketing strategy to draw you in to purchase a foam roller that over promises its back pain or muscle pain destroying benefits. As I have observed, foam rolling with “bumps or ridges” actually disturbs muscle synchronous signalling thus it causes more problems than it relieves.
You need a foam roller that is smooth and glides on the ground as if it is free of any friction and jarring aftereffects. The Atlas Foam Roller brand will never sell out to sell you a foam roller that looks cool but isn’t a therapeutic grade experience. As you shop around for the best foam roller that fits your needs and style, keep in mind that our foam rollers are smooth, simple, effective and last 4x or 5x longer than the standard trigger point foam rollers. Our rollers can take the load that Trigger Point can not guarantee. Furthermore, everyone that I have trained or reached out to have said that a foam roller with handles is the most fun and effective way to stretch and roll! The most common answer I receive is;
“The handles & smooth design makes all the difference.” – Courtney Morgan
After taking a 2017 survey from hundred of our Stretch Therapy clients & customers 95% of those that responded to the survey chose smooth foam rolling vs. textured foam rolling. Furthermore, of those surveyed 100% of female clients chose the smooth design while 90% of males chose smooth foam rolling options.
